Day 7: Ajaccio to Chorleywood

Managed breakfast on time, then cycled just across the road to get in the ferry queue, being shepherded to the front. Boarded on time and the ferry left at 8.

Kevin spotted that our tickets indicated we had reserved pullamn seats which we did - and also had them on the outward journey if we had known!.

Ferry pulled into a small port at the top of Corsica, Ilse Rousse, then we slept/read till time for lunch in the restaurant where yet again I got irritated by the slow service, but it didn't matter as we had nothing else to do. But I do get irritated by unecessary inefficiency due to disorganisation of duties. When I grow up I'll relax more.

Our flight was at 6:15 and the ferry was due in at 3, so plenty of time. Ah, spoken too soon. There were some high winds and the ferry got in an our late. But I did get first off the ferry!

Then the hotel was changed and Kevin had to go off to the old hotel to sort out the money. Then our chain fell off again....note to myself to get it tightened back in UK. So we peleton'ed to the new hotel, dumped the tandem in the garage, waited for Kevin, chucked the bags out of the van except for ours, and off to the airport at 4:45. Traffic started bad, but thinned out and we got to the airport at 5:15. Checked in no probs, flight left on time, quick exit from T5 to be picked up by daughter. Home by 7:45. Washing sorted and processed, and ready to leave tomorrow for Bahrain.
